Our Demands
-
A new publicly-funded clinic to provide comprehensive reproductive health services, including abortion.
-
(UPDATE: We've won this one! Reg repealed Jan 1, 2015) Government repeal of Regulation 84-20, which has effectively defunded abortion in New Brunswick.
-
Government repeal of Section 2.01, Chapter M-7 (Medical Services Payment Act), which limits funded abortions to hospitals.
-
An accessible, reliable, and unbiased source of information on reproductive options.
-
Improved access to abortions in hospitals throughout the province.
The women of New Brunswick deserve the same rights and access as women across Canada. Denying women the right to safe and reliable reproductive health care is not only dangerous, but a fundamental violation of their rights.

The July 2014 closure of the Morgentaler clinic has galvanized pro-choice activists across the country in support of a call to action organized by activists in New Brunswick and PEI. The Abortions Rights Coalition of Canada (ARCC), The National Abortion Federation (NAF), as well as newly formed groups such as ChoixNBChoice, Reproductive Justice New Brunswick, and the Young Feminists Youth Group are demanding New Brunswick women have access to fully funded abortion services.
